Carol Parafenko is a self-taught oil painter who pays homage to the poignancy of the everyday world.
The subject matter of her paintings is inspired by her experiences in Guelph, Wellington, Brant and
Lambton. A painterly style and photographic techniques like cropping, focus and careful composition
are employed. The landscapes and people around her are captured in rich colour and brushwork.
She loves portraying the poetry of light and the changing of the seasons;
quiet moments in the natural world.
In her professional life Carol Parafenko is a graphic designer, journalist,
professional photographer and art historian.
