Remembering Chris Bowden

It was with great sadness that Guelph Arts Council members learned late in March 2000 of the death of long-time volunteer Chris Bowden. In the late 1980s, Chris served on the GAC Board of Directors, leading the way and encouraging his colleagues in the Council’s earliest fundraising efforts. The epitome of the master salesman, he gave a special workshop each year on “How to Sell Fête Romantique Tickets,” and, for several years he played (to the hilt) the role of butler for the Grand-Prize Fête dinner. More recently, Chris was a regular on the GAC bi-monthly newsletter stuffing team. In all these involvements, he was full of life, laughter and good cheer.

He will be greatly missed.
