The Ephemeral Children is an entity interested in the idea of art itself – rather than art as a product – engaged in a focus on meaning,
rather than industry. But when is meaning meaningless? This is an issue that dissection of the group's very name can explain.
The very nature of thoughts and ideas is ephemeral: arising, evolving and then dissipating with age. As ideas fade and change,
so does all else in life, and for this reason children are classic examples of the ephemeral: new and young at one time,
then suddenly mature and older. This is the basis of meaning for the group, an ongoing discussion of the ephemeral nature
of meaning and art as artists, once new like children, evolve and grow older.
This is a group in endless transition--with no fixed point ever really achieved in life, a person never
stops changing – focused on developing art and meaning as they feel and see it during such transition.
For this reason, the group saw fit to create a manifesto of beliefs, signing it only to burn it moments later.
This is the nature of meaning – ephemeral, changing, evolving, pushing beyond limits.
But even that could be debated. Experience it for yourself.
